I don't usually do random journal updates. I mostly post my random thoughts on the twitter or tumblr, but I need a break from crocheting so here have some text!
By now I'm sure everyone's seen the Snailvengers I posted a few weeks ago. Well they ended up kind of exploding all over the internet. They've been posted on many well known websites (and I keep finding out about more every few days), and have been received extremely well in general. That both amazes and fascinates me, mostly because while I expected people to like them, I didn't expect them to like them that much XD. Because of that, I'm going to be putting out patterns for them eventually. I'm
hoping this year.
Since the snails in general seem to be a huge hit, I have lot of others planned. All of which I'm not going to say because of reasons. Paranoid reasons. But hey.
The Avengers scoodies have also been posted to a few places! Which is also exciting.
Speaking of crochet, I have so many commissions to do! And that I've done! Thanks to the Snailvengers and Avengers scoodies being posted places, there's been a lot more traffic to my etsy and I guess people like what they see! It's been mostly Loki scoodies, which is basically what I've been making since I created the first one last year. People love their Loki.
I'm going to be moving into my own apartment soon. I actually sign the lease for it tomorrow. I'm both nervous and excited. Nervous because having to be an adult is dumb and makes my anxiety go crazy, but excited because I'll actually be on my own. No roomate or anything. The only thing annoying me right now is the PTSD I still have from being robbed years ago, when I was living on my own in SC. I know there's still a chance something could happen, but I just keep telling myself that because I'm on the 3rd floor the only really "easy" way into the apartment is my front door which will be locked all the time. Well, at least when I'm not needing to get in and out of the apartment XD
I have been obsessively watching Scott Pilgrim for the past few weeks. I finally found the DVD for cheap, so there's been many a nights of Scott Pilgrim and crochet. I also finally broke down and bought the entire set of graphic novels. Now I just have to read them >_>
My birthday is in a couple weeks, and I've requested to go to the Mütter Museum in Philly. I learned about it a few years ago in the Weird Pennsylvania book, but then Emily from The Brain Scoop mentioned it in one of her videos and I've been wanting to go ever since. Soap Lady? Um, yes.
Speaking of The Brain Scoop. If you haven't heard of it before, you need to go educate yourself on the awesome and adorable that is Emily Graslie (warning for the squeamish, there's a lot of dead animal stuff going on):
